Only What I Feel, 1993
Written by Harlan Howard and Kostas
This brash, countrified girl-power kiss-off declares that the narrator's ex deserves whatever backstabbing he may get in the future, for what he's done to her. It's not women who are to blame, but his own proclivities, itemized in a wonderfully escalating litany: "So blame it on your lying, cheating, cold dead-beating / Two-timing, double dealing, mean mistreating, loving heart." The vocal is strong and confident, and she tumbles out the vituperative syllables with a gleeful brio. It's a witty, fun, singalong song.
