This slow, languid Western pop ballad, with Paul's masterful but subtle guitar and brushed drums, is as lulling as the prayer the narrator offers up to his love. It's a song of sorrowful parting. "Now, the hacienda's dark / The town is sleeping / Now, the time has come to part / The time for weeping." Ford's hushed vocals convey the quiet village and the sad scene: you can practically see the narrator, giving the mission church one last sad look before turning to go.
